These historical rooms, opened today to accomodate tourists, were once the of ces belonging to my grandfather, Andrea, a well-known Notary of the town of Alba, then to my father Italo and, most recently, to my sister Paola. This, then, for many years has been our family home where I grew up and still live…
San Domenico Relais, just a stone's throw from the Main Street,
in the medieval heart of the city, faces the Gothic-Romanesque church of San Domenico.
Our Rooms
3 suites and 2 rooms with all the modern comforts, beside the charm of a historic building of the seventeenth century. The wide rooms are all on the main floor, immersed in a suggestive atmosphere, with marble or wood floors and stucco ceilings, with antique furniture, Venetian brocades and warm bathrooms in Italian marble.

The Reception
Once it was the porch of the Dominican convent, now this perspective of medieval vaults is a cozy showroom of the best local products (and a courtesy bar), fit to our first meeting... and to the final “take care and see you again” (for our guests always come back!).

Despite being in the Limited Traffic Zone, the Relais is easily reachable by car for all customers, just following the herein attached downloadable map.
The parking in the yard has to be booked in advance.
Breakfast
San Domenico Relais offers an Italian breakfast in two downtown cafes, one sited in front of the rooms (il Caffè del Teatro, a small, cozy bijou) and the other in Piazza Duomo (Caffè Calissano, one of the historical cafes in Italy), 50 meters away from the Relais.
Having breakfast in a bar is the best way to start living the spirit of the place and understand the entire Italian espresso philosophy. Breakfast includes coffee, cappuccino or tea; water, soda or juice; croissants, cake or savory muffin. Sorry, but sausages, scrambled eggs, bacon or maple syrup are not served for breakfast, in Italy! In return, however, you can have a great lunch!
Massage
Experienced and professional staff offers a variety of treatments and massages, both individual and for couples (relax, essential oils, saponage, scrubs, ayurvedic massage, bandage) directly in your room.

L’Hammam
La Maison Arabe, 200 meters away from our Relais, is the ideal place to be pampered after a day of adventures in the hills. The traditional Moroccan hammam provides massages, steam bath and individual and couple cosmetic sessions.

Let’s start our day with an Italian classic: a stop at the barbershop! A rewarding and special experience with a real craftsman like Barber Mario: hand made foam, straight razor and vaporized aftershave for a perfect Italian shaving.
